How to overcome low self esteem is a question you will probably have asked yourself lots of times but still have no answer for. To sum it up it is basically the way you perceive yourself to be.
You must realise that how you perceive yourself is just a function of your brain which is stuck on an automatic, self destructive pattern where you perceive yourself as inadequate. This makes overcoming low self esteem difficult as you may have been stuck in this pattern for a long time however it is not impossible to overcome which is great news for us!

1) Do Not Be Affected Emotionally By What Other People Think Of You- In many cases low self esteem can be attributed to social reactions towards you. Someone may call you fat, or ugly, and you feel negative due to it and over time develop low self esteem. Whilst this is bad, the good news is that insults such as this one will only affect you if you choose to accept it…which is great news!
-The next time someone insults you, mentally disconnect from it. My trick is that I will imagine my hand cutting through the air, a symbol that i am cutting off the other persons insult. I always end up with a big smile on my face after this and can’t even remember the insult. The main point is that you do not have to accept an insult if you don’t want to, and your self esteem will be completely unaffected. This is fantastic news as it shows that only you have control of you self esteem and only accept what you want to.
-This is a critical step in learning how to overcome low self esteem and increase your confidence and i strongly encourage you to use this. The next time anyone insults you, or makes some negative comment about you, do the above exercise, and you will be a lot better off for it.
