Achieving A Healthy Self Esteem

The happiest people are those who do not judge others, live in kindness and love themselves.  Do you ever see someone who is perpetually happy and wish you could be like them?  You CAN achieve a healthy self-esteem…it takes time and effort.  Following are seven steps to help you on your way to becoming a happier, healthier YOU.

1.  IDENTIFY
One is not required to live by “I have to” or “I must” – everything we do is a result of a decision…a choice.  Choices made in our younger years and choices made this morning when we woke up.  Everything is a choice:  to obey or disobey; to study or not study; to eat right or not eat right.  When making these choices, we control everything about our lives including our future and our level of self-awareness.  When you see a wise, confident, beautiful person – it’s not luck, it’s choice.  Once you realize and accept this, only then can you begin to become who it is you want to be.  All of us are given gifts…special gifts and talents.  Through self-discovery, we are able to identify these gifts.  If we pay attention to who we are and what makes us happy, we will make the right choices to set our own future.

2.  EVALUATE
Who are you?  Look at yourself and be honest.  Write on a piece of paper the things you like (Pros) and don’t like (Cons) about you.  If you are (and you should be) your own best friend, you should be able to take a look at the Cons and develop a plan to begin moving those negatives over to the positive side.  Likewise, you should take a look at your Pros and develop a plan to make sure those positive attributes remain on the positive side and continue to grow on the inside AND the outside of you.  As you work out a plan, try to find people with like personalities who share your same goals.  These are the very people that will make great friends and help you stay on your set path.

3.  CONFIRM
Talk to yourself!  Still using your list of Pros, begin reinforcing the positive attributes of your personality.  I AM…. “I am successful”, “I am pretty”, “I am fun!”… every positive thought should be repeated often – YOU are WHAT you THINK!!!

4.  FORGIVE
Forgive yourself for screw ups!  They happen to all of us!  We are as imperfect as our bodies!!  Give yourself a break – forgive and move on.  You can’t change the past – but you can live in the present and affect the future!

5.  REST
Treat yourself right.  Be a friend, a good listener, a giver, not a taker – we feel the best about ourselves when we make someone else smile.

6.  BE THANKFUL
Gratitude will get you everywhere.  Give thanks to your creator.  Be humble in all you have.  Pray for those with cold hearts or sad lives.  Really know what you have; all of the gifts, talents, and things you possess.  Here today, gone tomorrow…if you live your life with gratitude and love, peace will always be in your presence.

7.  ACCEPTANCE
Do not accept your fate dictated by others.  Accept only the fate you give yourself.  Through acts of kindness and focused determination, you can achieve all that is good in this life.  When you believe in kindness and in yourself – you can achieve anything.  At that point self-esteem is abundant and so is your life.

Know yourself.  Like yourself.  Live your life like everyone is only in their underwear!

Getting Out Of Low Self Esteem And Achieving Self Worth

Low self esteem is fuelled by negative thoughts. Your thought life reflects in your behaviour, so if you have a low self esteem, that is how you will act and thus affect your self worth. Think highly of yourself. Accept and love the way you are; do not strive to be someone else but work on improving your self image.

Do not neglect yourself; take care of your personal appearance. Mind the way you dress, watch what you eat and how you talk. Generally, when you are well groomed it is easier to feel more self confident. People will esteem you only if you have self respect.

Low self esteem causes one to neglect taking care of their self image and live for other people. As much as you want to please others, do not so at the expense of your own desires or needs. This will only make you miserable. Live life as you want, love yourself.

Challenges make champions and each one of us, we have our own failures. Learn out of your failures. Do not be too hard on yourself because of not succeeding on a certain business project or not stalling in your career development, maybe all you need is a change of course to achieve your set goal. Focus on your achievements and feed your mind with positive thoughts, this way you will achieve self motivation thus achieve personal development.

When you discover your self worth and value, you will not need to prove who you are to others but you will influence the way they perceive life. Attaining personal development, self worth and self image is within your grasp, have positive thoughts and you will achieve your set goals in life.

Goal Settings – Handyman Business Goal Setting And Achieving

Goal Settings

There are six serious categories of goal setting that a Handyman business owner could set goals in, measure this progress toward those goals and grunt work hard at achieving. Since you are perpetual to read this, I suspect that you easily might be interested in knowing what those six assignment categories are. Well, I won’t disappoint you.
For the most part, let’s start with the end in mind and work backwards. Goal Settings

Determine your income or money goal. If you want to make $100,000 per year as income in your Handyman business, then use that as your goal and work through the rest of your goals to figure out what you would need to do to earn that amount per year.

How many clients would you need to have at your decided rate to earn that amount of money with all your expenses taken out so that your Handyman business can actually pay you that full $100,000 per year?
If you are consistently closing three out of five people that you provide a bid, then we can calculate the last goal, and my favorite, the goal of the number of leads generated.

The other goals you will want to set are you goals relating to the people that you will need on your team in your ultimate vision of where you want your Handyman business to be. If you are not the marketing type, maybe you want to hire someone to take care of your marketing. If you are not the accounting type, maybe you want a bookkeeper or accountant or both to handle the bookkeeping and accounting. Not really interested in swinging a hammer yourself? No problem, you can own the Handyman business and have someone else that actually provides your core service to clients. Goal Settings

What about the systems and tools that you will need in place to run your business? Do you have specific goals for what you’ll need? Do you need a formal sales presentation? Do you need a system for bidding jobs? Do you need tools for making your sales presentation or bids? Set those goals so that you know what you are working towards. Goal Settings

What kind of person would you need to become to have a Handyman business that is creating the lifestyle and income that you are visualizing with your goals? What additional knowledge would you need? What kind of beliefs would you need? What kind of activity would you take on a daily basis? How would you act around people if you were already running that type of business? Believe it or not (and you should believe it), the only reason that do not already have that type of business is this “inner game” or lack of personal growth and eduction. So, why not set goals for the type of person you would need to be and the knowledge, skills and education that you would need and go for it. Always want to have a successful life? What Personal Goal Setting tip increases your chance of achieving your goals by over 1,000%?

Personal goal setting is a major component of any personal development program and indeed for anyone wanting to succeed in any or all areas of their life.

Why set personal goals?

By setting personal goals on a routine basis you decide what you want to achieve, and then move step-by-step towards the achievement of these goals. The process of personal goal setting allows you to choose where you want to go in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know what you have to concentrate on to do it.
Personal goal setting is a procedure used by successful business people, top level sports women and men and achievers in all fields. It gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation.

By setting clearly defined goals using a goal setting worksheet, you can take pride in the achievement of those goals. You see progress in what might otherwise seem a long pointless struggle. With personal goal setting, you will also raise your self-confidence as you recognize your ability and competence in achieving the goals that you have set. The process of achieving those goals and seeing this achievement, gives you confidence that you will be able to achieve higher and more difficult goals.

How should you set your goals?

When personal goal setting, take yourself off somewhere where you feel totally in tune with yourself. I have a favorite café that plays the right kind of music and early in the morning there are few other people around. I sit in the sun with my coffee and the thoughts, ideas and pen just flow. Be as descriptive as possible and notice your emotions whilst you are writing. If you can, close your eyes and visualize yourself experiencing and having everything right now! This can add huge weight to having your achieve these personal goals. Do this as often as you can.

The first step in setting personal goals is to consider what you want to achieve in your lifetime, as setting Lifetime goals gives you the overall perspective that shapes all other aspects of your decision making.

In order to find out what personal goals you want to set, you need to ask yourself some pertinent questions and could include to the following:
What will your life look like when you have what you want?
What is the ideal career/job/business?
How much money do you want to make?
What things do you want to experience?
Where do you want to go?
What does the ideal relationship look like?
How do you feel when you have everything you want?

These questions may relate to Personal, Relationships, Financial, Business/Career, Health & Fitness etc

Once you have the questions answered, make each goal as specific and clear as possible and start breaking things down so you have clear timeframes around each objective. Personal goal setting usually includes and a series of lower level goals culminating in a daily to-do list.
By setting up this structure of plans you can break even the biggest life goal down into a number of small tasks that you need to do each day to reach the bigger personal goals. Write down your goals – make up and use a goal setting worksheet.

…and the answer to the question above?

Did you know that the single act of writing your goals down increases the chances of achieving them by 1,100%? Amazing, isn’t it! You can increase your chances of reaching your goals by 11 times just by writing them down.

A major newspaper did a significant survey and asked people if they had achieved their goals from the previous year. 46% of those who had written down their goals did achieve them. And only 4% of those who didn’t have written goals achieved them. That’s 11 times the difference!

Want to catapult your way to achieving your goals?

Make sure you increase your chances by over 1,000% by writing dowm your goals and read them every day!
