6 Simple Steps on How to Build Self Esteem the Easy Way

A good sense of self esteem is crucial for one’s mental well being. Without a decent level of self esteem, a person may very well end up suffering from mental health issues as their own insecurities eat away at them from the inside, slowly but surely. After all, there is no worse critic than one’s self. Self esteem also determines how successful one becomes in life. It enables people to build upon previous successes as they become determined and more confident about their own abilities to achieve something out of life. This article will show you 6 simple steps on how you can build self esteem, effortlessly.

The first thing you should do to build self esteem is to focus on your positive traits rather than your negative traits. This is crucial as you will subconsciously build up your mental fortitude as you become encouraged by your own propensity for positive things rather than negative influences. As you build up your mental fortitude, you will find yourself becoming increasingly resistant to negativity.

The second thing you need to consider is to surround yourself with positive minded people. You may not be a stranger to the phenomenon of people constantly berating you and putting you down. These are the kind of people you need to stay away from, because they will cultivate within you a culture of negativity. You will start believing their negative, hurtful comments if you continue associating with them. Instead, try to find positive, like-minded people who may give you the encouragement to keep on keeping on, and are tactful in giving their opinions and criticism. This can be a life-changing experience for you, especially if you find the right person to inspire you with.

The third step to building great self esteem is to have the courage to take on risks. You will never achieve a decent sense of self confidence if you are afraid of taking risks. Being able to overcome obstacles will build your sense of self confidence, and this is crucial if you are to build upon your past successes.

The fourth step you need to take is to maintain a healthy body and mind. Incorporating some form of exercise in your daily routine is important, as it not only gets the circulation flowing, but it also fires certain areas of your brain as you keep active. Your mind is your temple, and with a healthy body comes a healthy mind. One way to exercise your mind is to read. A personal favourite of mine happens to be motivational books. Not only do they enrich the mind, they also serve as great inspiration for life success.

Once you’ve gotten past the fourth step, you need to go on to the fifth, which is to set for yourself some daily goals. By achieving small little goals, or milestones, it will encourage you to challenge yourself to complete certain tasks faster or more efficiently, or you may even be encouraged to set for yourself bigger goals. Every achievement of a goal will bring about a sense of satisfaction that will do wonders for your self esteem.

Finally, the sixth and last step is to love yourself. This includes believing in yourself and loving yourself for what you are. Be true to yourself, believe in your own abilities for success, and you will soon find yourself attracting success like never before.

    Tips To Build High Self-Esteem

When you mention high self-esteem many of us think of some “over-confident”, egoistic person who has lost the sense of reality and trying to appear more than who he really is. In my opinion there is no such a thing that being too confident, having too high “amount” of self-esteem. But pretending to be self confident and showing the signs of it on the surface and living with somebody else inside that do exist.

The outside recognition could make you believe in something what you are actually not. Great examples are gang members, belonging to a certain group just because my friends go there, church, party goers etc. You can have positive feedback from them, you can pretend to feel happy among them, but if those feelings and experiences do not match with your beliefs you would not have healthy high self-esteem.

Having healthy high self-esteem is a learned process. Everybody, I mean everybody can build it. You just have to decide to do that.

Her are some tips to help you out:

    1. FOCUS: Every single cell of your body and your mental capacity has to concentrate on 1 single thing whatever you do.

Focus itself can create success. Concentration is an indispensable part of high self-esteem. It will teach you how to ignore obstructions and guide your thoughts toward the chosen subject.

    2. PERSISTENCE: This is the key to live a happy life. Many people can start something, but really few would finish it. You can find those who complete the job among the most successful and/or the wealthiest people in the world.

The reason I use and/or, because to be successful you do not necessarily have to be rich in financial terms.

Mahatma Gandhi – the Great Soul of India – started fasting and the British Empire left India. He had probably no high value assets or bank accounts. He had an enormous mental and spiritual power to show people around the world, that you can achieve what you want without aggression if you are determined enough. His persistence was peaceful and “soft”. That is how he became a legend.

    3. TRIAL & ERROR: We all try and make mistakes. This is inevitable for our personal growth. The more you fail the more you learn.

Think of Thomas Edison who was asked after trying to create a light bulb 10000 times unsuccessfully:

“- Mr. Edison, how did it feel to fail 10000 times?”

“- I did not fail. I found 10000 ways that won’t work. – he replied.”

That’s the spirit. You do not fail, you just learn how not to do it.

You have to start the healing process for developing high self-esteem as soon as possible. Educate yourself, read, listen and talk to people, but please remember that at the final moment you have to make the decision. You are your own “healer”. You are the one who will choose pleasure instead of pain. Self-discovery, self-creation is a wonderful journey so

How To Quickly Build Self-Confidence And Self-Esteem

It sucks to have low self-esteem. If you want to build self-confidence to banish these depressing feelings and finally become a popular person, follows these tips to quickly boost your self-esteem:

    1. Do an exercise routine. Exercise releases what I think of as self-esteem-enhancing hormones. Just running or lifting weights instantly makes you feel better about yourself. You’ll also feel great about yourself once you see an attractive figure in the mirror.

If you don’t yet exercise, start out with brisk walking for 15 minutes a day, 3 times per week. Work your way up to 30 minutes 6 days a week. Make it a ritual.

I also encourage you to build strength. Even if you’re not a muscle-head, lift weights. The added physical strength adds to your psychological strength.

    2. Reduce self-analysis. Low self-esteem individuals tend to suffer from social anxiety. A pre-cursor to social anxiety is self-obsession where the person continues to think about himself or herself.

No one thinks about you as much as you. Know that most people in conversations are more concerned about how you think of them than their perception of you.

If you want to be self-conscious, focus on other people. What a counterintuitive lesson! Once you focus on other people and reduce self-analysis, you begin saying and doing the right things. Also doing activities that make you focus and hold your attention can quickly boost your confidence.

    3. Accept mistakes. A baby tries to walk, falls over, and gets up to try again. If it gave up like so many people with poor self-esteem, it would never learn to walk.

Please accept your mistakes if you want to build self-confidence. There is no failure, only feedback. When you really believe and accept this, you use failure to build confidence – another counterintuitive lesson.

Nobel Prize writer George Bernard Shaw said, “When I was young I observed that nine out of every ten things I did were failures, so I did ten times more work.”

That’s what building a high self-esteem is all about. Everyone fails, gets rejected, and feels humiliated at times. What matters is how you react to what life presents you.

The moment self-esteem-diminishing situation arises, ask yourself, “What would a confident person do in this situation?” The answer to that is the quickest way to build unstoppable confidence.

Avoid These Arrows And Build Your Self Esteem

Have you ever wondered how some people manage to remain calm and composed and keep self esteem in so many environments? You might like to try these tips to start you off in the right direction.

Try to imagine yourself as a target. A target that archers use to shoot their arrows at, maybe. All the people you meet in everyday situations will become one of those arrows. Those arrows will shoot you down one by one and slowly destroy your self esteem. So which arrow should you avoid to prevent them destroying you or getting the best of you?

Arrow number one: Work Environment Negativity

Wherever you work now or have worked in the past you will have come across the “dog eat dog” environment where everyone is fighting to stay one step of the rest. Non-appreciative people will always thrive in this environment. If you decided to miss your tea break or work through lunch or even decide to stay after hours no one is going to appreciate your efforts. How many times have you worked too hard without any help from the people you are putting all your effort in for? Your self esteem will be ruined if you stay in this negative work environment. Stay out of this. Competition is everywhere. Be healthy enough to compete, but in a healthy competitive way.

Arrow number two: Other People’s sad and bad behaviour

The walking wounded, people who spend their lives gossiping, brown nosers, whingers, back stabbing loners, and everyone else with bad vibes and attitudes will slowly eat away at your self esteem as well as your self esteem building program.

    Arrow number three: Changing Environment

You cannot get away from change. Accept it and envelop it. Without change we cannot grow as human beings and remain stale and stagnant. Just like a pond that receives no fresh water or movement it too will become stagnant. Changes refresh and cleanse us. It tests our flexibility, adaptability and alters the way we think. Changes can and will make things difficult for a while will make life difficult for a while and can sometimes be very stressful but at the same time can improves our lives. In life there will always be changes so we should embrace it and be happy with it.

Arrow number four: Experiences in our past

Do not be ashamed if you make mistakes or fail at something you hoped to be good at. Just do not let failure transform into fear. It might feel like you have been swung around like a cat by the tail. Dust your self off and try again. Treat each failure and mistake as a lesson.

Arrow number five: Viewing the world in a negative way

When it comes to building self esteem you must learn to make the best out of bad situations .There are too many negativities in the world around us. Try not to view the world in a negative way it will only eat away at your self esteem.

Many people wonder if some people are born leaders or born positive thinkers. This assumption is incorrect as being positive, and staying positive is a choice we make for ourselves. When it comes to building self esteem and drawing lines for self improvement it is a choice, not a rule or a talent.

When we start to become responsible for whom we are self esteem building will eventually lead to self improvement. It is just like your oven at home when you light it, it starts off warm then gradually become the inferno you desire. Developing self esteem we start to take control of our life, mission and values. So how do we start putting up the building blocks of self esteem? Be positive, contented and happy. Be appreciative of everything around you. Never miss an opportunity to compliment. Living life in a positive way will help you build self esteem and then your confidence will grow.
