Covey Goal Setting – Goal Setting For Home Business Success

Covey Goal Setting

Business deed begins with having a vision of what we ask for to accomplish and then setting goals to achieve it. However, the majority of borrowers set goals for the business, and end up either forgetting them or giving up on them. This results in a failure to get done overly vision, who lifestyle that we want. Covey Goal Setting

We are more likely to achieve our goals if they align with our values. So how can you ensure that your goals reflect your heart? Here are five steps you can take:

1. Reflect. What are your core values? What are those things you would never compromise? What do you spend your time and energy on? What are your strengths? Those things that you could spend hours doing and not notice the time passing? What do you need to do more of or less of? Spend some time thinking about your values and work through your thoughts and feelings about yourself, your business, your family, your faith, your total self. Then list 3 to 5 things you would like to do differently or change. Write your responses down to use as possible goals.

2. Be SMART. Now that you have a list of possible goals, prioritize them by importance to you. Then take the one with the highest priority and make it a SMART goal:

- Specific – Goals that are vague are difficult to pursue. If you make your goals reasonably specific, then you will have a clearer target to aim at. Include as much detail as possible when you write down your goal.

- Measurable – When you have measures for your goals, you are able to track your progress as well as more easily determine how well you have achieved your goals. The idea here is to have some type of yardstick against which you can measure your progress. Perhaps you identify some quantitative targets for tracking your progress. Covey Goal Setting

- Aligned – If you are in network marketing or direct sales, you will want to align your goals with your company’s goals so that you ensure that you are directing your energy in the right direction.

- Results-focused – If you craft your goal well, it will specify an important result or outcome that you hold yourself accountable to achieve. Most people write their goals in terms of actions they plan to take (i.e., make 20 calls a day, distribute 10 company dvds a week, attend 4 training events a month, etc.). It’s fine to know the action steps you need to take, but what is the true result you’re seeking when performing these steps? Covey Goal Setting

Stay focused on the desired end result when creating your goals. As Stephen Covey says, begin with the end in mind. Allow your goals to help you focus on the results your are expected to produce.

- Time-bound – Goals should have some specific deadlines built into them. Decide when you expect to deliver the desired results. Always want to have a successful life? Kick the LOSER out of your life by getting the Internet #1 Covey Goal Setting  Now!

Internet Home Business Goal Setting Tips

Having an Internet home business of your own is a fantastic thing when it is making money. The ability to stay at home and be you own boss brings with it some responsibility as well. To become an achievement oriented business you need to set meaningful goals and then work at achieving them. This is an article to help you do that.

I would like to help you set goals that can bring you to act in a quick manner. Setting a goal of being a millionaire is an admirable goal, but it is also a long term goal. By reading and believing what you read you may very well someday become one. But this is not an action goal.

An example of an action goal for an Internet home business would be create 3 blog articles this week. Another might be to spend 30 minutes everyday in an internet marketing discussion forum.

Your goals will change as your business changes. You might start out with a goal of having 200 visitors per day to your website. To do that you will write and submit 8 articles a month using a submission service such as Submit Your Article.

By having this kind of a goal you know that you must write 2 good quality articles per week. Over time this can bring you traffic to help you hit your goal of 200 visitors per day. Then you increase your goal to 400 visitors per day and repeat the process.

Immediate goals are things that you want to do now. These could be daily or weekly goals. Maybe your goal is to add one new website per week to your Internet home business. Now you know that to hit that goal you will need to research a topic, choose a theme, buy a domain name, arrange for hosting, choose 20 unique keywords and build 4 or 5 websites per month.

If you are part time this may not be a reasonable goal and you would need to change that to add one new website per month. The point is to set goals that are realistic based on the time and money available to you to hit them.

Here is an outline you can follow for goal setting for you Internet home business:

Long term goals – Where do you see yourself and your business 5 years from now.

Intermediate Goals – Where do you see your business 1 year from now.

Short term goals – What are your goals for the next year.

Weekly – What will you accomplish this week.

Daily goals – What are you going to do today.

Set your daily goals the night before so you know what you are going to do that day. Sunday night set some weekly goals for what you should be doing to work towards your short term goals.

Once a year do an inventory of where your business is and what you want to accomplish in the next year. At this time track how you are coming towards hitting your long term goals.

Another important thing is to set some goals outside of your business. This means goals in various areas of your life such as spiritual, family, exercise, recreation and so on. Your Internet home business will actually suffer if you spend so much time on it that you neglect other areas of your life.

Part of being a success is being a well rounded individual. Internet marketing gurus who tell you that you have to work harder may not be giving you the big picture. You certainly do have to work to have a successful internet business. But all work and no play does really make Jack a dull boy.

Meaningful goals are written down and read. Action goals are important to keep you working all of the time towards hitting all of your goals. Hopefully these Internet home business goal tips will help you to improve your business in the future.

How To Goal Set For Home Business Success

Setting goals for your home business can be a truly remarkable thing. Setting goals and then working to make those goals reality, and finally seeing those goals materialized in your life are simply amazing. In this article, you will discover how you too can have so much fun in your home business by setting goals for your home business.

In this article, you will discover:

    * What Is Goal Setting?

A journey of a million miles starts with the first step. You’ve heard the saying so many times, now it is time to apply it to your home business and achieve your success.

Goal setting is basically the process of deciding on what you want, and setting about plans that will make it your focus in your action. Though goal setting is pretty simple, some of our goals are big goals, and need more elaborate goal setting methods to turn them into reality.

    * What Is A Goal?

If goal setting is the process of choosing a goal, and setting ways and means to make it reality, then a goal is that which your are striving for. A goal can be financial; it can be customer orientated, profitability or any number of other things. The point is it is something that gets you excited.

By far the best advice I can give you is to be specific with your goals. So for example, if you want to earn $100k this year from your home business, that will be a better goal than simply saying to make lots of money. Goal setting can cause a lot of other goals needing to be attained, which we will go into in the next section.

    * How To Goal Set For Home Business Success

If you consider for a moment the $100k revenue in your home business this year, as a goal, then it will cause a lot of other question marks. For example to make that $100k is not simply running your home business day to day. To make $100k in your home business, you may need to consider the amount of people you need to sell to, the amount each customer needs to spend each year, and much more.

At this moment we have opened a can of worms, because that simple $100k now needs a lot of other goals to be achieved before we can get that $100k revenue. You may need to speak to 10, 20, even 100 people every day to get them interested in your product.

Goal setting for home business becomes much easier when you are walking a road you have walked through before! For example, if you have just started your own home based business, the $100k has a big question mark. However, if you have run for a year or two, then you likely know the metrics of your business, and can simply scale it up. So, if you had 5,000 customers producing $50,000, then you know that a goal of 10,000 customers likely will bring you the $100k.
